About Therapist

Anahita is an occupational therapist with over 22 years of experience working with children spanning diverse ages and diagnoses. Anahita has provided therapy services in public, private, and specialized schools (preschool, elementary and middle schools) within Los Angeles and
Orange Counties. She has provided therapy to address the developmental needs of children requiring early intervention (0-3 years) support in center-based multi-disciplinary programs, in-home, and clinics. Anahita has provided group social skills intervention with an emphasis of transitioning the use of the skills in the community and home settings.
Anahita received her Masters in Occupational Therapy from the University of Southern California in 2001. She pursued advanced training in Ayres’ Sensory Integration which has framed her therapy approach and clinical reasoning over the years. In her pursuit of knowledge to better serve children and their families, Anahita has acquired certifications and trainings in a variety of therapy methods to provide comprehensive care. She has extensive experience and training in evidence-based assessments and therapy interventions, including applied behavior analysis. Her attention to a child’s social-emotional needs, leads to children leaving therapy sessions feeling happy, empowered, and confident. Anahita founded Empowering Kids in 2018 to full fill her passion to help children and families using multiple approaches to address children’s sensory, motor, learning and behavior developmental needs.
To further the field of pediatric occupational therapy, Anahita has been a course Originator and Presenter of Applying Ayres Sensory Integration® in School-Based Practice (at R2K: Research 2012). She has been a committee member for the Revision of California Department of Education: Guidelines for Occupational Therapy & Physical Therapy in California Public Schools (2008). Anahita was the recipient of the 2019-2020 Classified Employee of the Year for Anaheim Elementary School District Special Services Department.
